Sos, muh name is Val. I will update at some point with a loverly ID listing things I like/dislike and so on. Right now it's 3 AM and I'm sleepy, so this will be short.

I am actually a long-time deviant; my old account is collecting dust, and I wanted to start fresh; clean slate and all that crap.

Soanyways, right now I am on vacation with my family, staying in Bath, UK. We're here so that my husband can visit the family that he hasn't seen in the 2 years since we got married. So far, England is cold, but I love where we're staying and how we're within walking distance of pretty much everything. It's a lovely little house, too.

Anyway, that's all for now :)

<3 Val

Edit: I didn't feel like making another journal so I shall just update this one.

Wanted to describe myself a little.

Aliases: Nicnevin, Bunny, Bunnie, Panda
Hobbies: Video Games (Yes I'm a nerd), drawing, writing, photography, reading, watching movies
Favourite
Movies
: Donnie Darko, Boondock Saints, 300, V for Vendetta, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Fifth Element, Lucky Number Slevin, Fight Club, Pirates of the Caribbean, Se7en, Pulp Fiction, Resident Evil series, Mr. Brooks
Video games: World of Warcraft (yes, it's addictive :ohnoes:), Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Command and Conquer 3, Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, We <3 Katamari, Okami
Books: Watership Down by Richard Adams, In the Night Garden by Catherynne M. Valente, Move Underground by Nick Mamatas, Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis, The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, Whitechapel Gods by S.M. Peters
TV shows: Lost, Battlestar Gallactica, Eureka, Weeds, Sarah Connor Chronicles
Pets: 2 kitties, Stormy and Misty. Both female Abyssinians, about a year and a half old. My parents have three cats; Mischief (female fat tabby; about 10 yrs.), Toby (neurotic female Bengal, about 8 yrs), and Stinky (male abyssinian, same father as Stormy and Misty).

Other things about me:
I'm 20 years old, and I've been married for 2 years. My husband's name is Nick and we both enjoy video games. We met over the internet. He's British, and left his family in Britain to come be with me. (We are currently visiting the UK so he can be with his family.)
I am not in school, nor do I work. Both for medical reasons which I'd prefer not to discuss at this time.
I spend much of my time on my computer; playing video games or drawing. I've been in somewhat of an inspirational rut for the past year or so, and haven't produced much artwork to be proud of. For me, this is very depressing, so I vowed that while on this trip in England, that I would try to tap into my creative side a little more. Thus, I created a new account. And here I am ^^;

I create for myself, for personal enjoyment and the pride I get from completing a project. I do not like criticism, constructive or not, because I am very hard on myself as it is; I do not post something unless I have given it my best, and for the most part once it is posted, I am finished with it. Obviously, I like getting positive comments, as most artists do, and I realize that it will take a lot more time to grow artistically if I do not accept criticism, but for now, I would appreciate no criticism unless specifically requested in the artist comments. As you can probably guess, I have very little confidence in my artistic capabilities...

I was told once that I am much more distant and "aloof" with my artwork (drawings and photography) and that writing is my strong point. This frustrated me to no end when I heard it, because for me, drawing comes much more naturally than writing. Though recently, both seem forced. Obviously, like any artist, there are times when both come naturally, and take little effort. But then there are times when I sit down to draw or write and it's almost like a chore to do so. It's painful, and art shouldn't be that way. It should just flow out of you.

Anyway... I ramble. If anyone actually took the time to read all that, I applaud you. Now you know a little about me.

-Val
